Hello,
My name is Teresa and I have committed myself to get back into shap.
My question is this, I have been going to the gym for the last three weeks , working out on the treadmill and Life Cycle for a total of 55 minutes total workout a day. ( No lasp in time except to change machines.) Since doing so, I have dropped alot of pounds but the tummy still is not shinking. Should I add ab exercises while on this ecercise routin so it shinks while I shink everywhere else?
Thanks for any input.

ab exercises wont make your tummy shrink...it trains the underneath ab muscles, nothing more...what your doing now is key to fat loss and like your experiencing, abdominal fat is the most stubborn and the last place noticed in which fat decreases...keep doing what your doing, the fat on the abs will go eventually, ab exercises will do nothing for the fat above your ab muscles at all.

Although the ab exercises won`t help get rid of the fat, it doesn`t mean you shouldn`t do any because once that fat is gone you certainly want strong ab muscles to support your back and to make your abs look better so if you want to try them go for it, it won`t hurt...Ask your gym instructor to show you a few basic ones to start with :) G. ( sorry GymMachine I felt I needed to add my 2 cents worth LOL)

Yes. Crunches, sit ups and V-lifts will do it. Also do raises for your obliques. :))

Agreed, but the key to burning fat all over your body is to work as many muscle groups as possible, so in the long run, ab exercises will help you burn fat on your tummy, but the weight will come off wherever it chooses to first.... unfortunately, that is the way it goes :((

And of course the body chooses places like fingers to loose first. LOL!
