I read this comment on another post earlier..I was wondering if you start to burn less calories if you do the same workout all the time? Thanks. :-)

when your body gets used to an activity (when it gets easier for you to do a certain workout) then you are not using as much energy to do the workout and so you are not burning as many calories as when you first started. that's why it is good to either keep upping the ante on that particular workout (increasing speed, resistance, etc) or just keep changing workouts to keep "shocking" your body. it's all about the shock factor and to change your body you have to shock it so if it gets used to something, it won't be shocked... hmm.. did that make any sense :-P

Your body adjusts to any workout routine after about 6 weeks. To challenge your body after that period, try changing to a workout that challenges your body in a different way. i.e. switch from running to basketball, from aerobics tapes to cycling. The challenge to your body to use new muscles, new balance and coordination, kick starts your metabolism, and your weight loss should continue.

You should continually push your body to do more or yes you will reach a point when all you are doing is maintaing. That is fine if you are at a point where you are happy with you wieght and body etc, but if not KEEP PUSHING!
