i just got home from my doc appointment.... they did a blood sugar test (it was early morning 9.45 and i hadent eaten yet and they called it fasting...) it was 101... my weight was 307.... so thats down 10 pounds since the second tue in april...
he kinda yelled at me for "skipping meals" which i dont understand cuase... i am NOT a morning person... i cannot eat first thing in the morning... i eat 4-5 small meals(between 250 and 300) and one big meal (avg 600 cals) i jhust dont eat my first meal untill around 1130 or so.... i have tried and i am simply not able to eat first thing in the morning.... i feel very ill to my stomach and heavy and i cant do it... so i dont know why he says i am skipping meals when i eat brekfast (just not at 6 in the morning)
anyways... i start my meds for the diabetes tomorrow... metfronim (or something... its really hard to read the script and i still have to get it filled) have to take it with my biggest meal.... and he says it MAY cause some intestonal discomfort the first week or so while i adjust to it...
im so excited cause i know inches have come off... i have this suit jacket that i bought in dec.... and it was about 3 inches from closeing... and i buttoned it last night!!!!!!!!
i have realised something tho... i think i am afraid of success... i mean... it keeps going through my head (at some deep dark level) what if i loose it and i am still ill... what if what if what if... and its kindof counterproductive.... but this too i will beat.... thanks guys for being there for me....
super big cyber hugs
Jenn

I don't know too much about diabetes but I think it is very important NOT TO SKIP MEALS. Maybe someone here knows more.
I don't like to eat breakfast either but I have learned to. That way I am not starving my mid-afternoon. It cuts down on the calories I can have for the rest of the day but I do feel better when I eat before I begin my day.
Congratulations of the buttons on the jacket!! I had the same experience with a coat. One day I put it on and said, D***, I can actually button this thing.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh...........afraid of success! That would be a deep subject for this board but I have the same feelings. Maybe someone here would like to give us a psychological reason why, on some level, we are afraid of one day reaching our goal weight.
Keep it up Jenn.

First congrats on the 10 lbs loss and on the being able to do up the jacket!!!
Now for the afraid of success thing...My take on it is that I think it will be a lot of pressure to maintain so I tend to sabotage myself....Hopefully has I lose (very slowly I may add) by the time I reach a maintaining goal I will have aquired the proper tools in the form of knowledge to shed the fear of success....So that`s my reasoning on it...G

Good for you Jenn! You are doing great!
About the fear of success--essentially it is just the humans' trait of "Fear of the Unknown." Everyone has it. The word "success" is interchangeable with any "unknown" such as the fear of doctor's test results, the fear of purchasing a new car, the fear of opening the credit card bill, etc, etc. It is not about weight removal success--so the sooner you recognize that, the less of a chance you have of using that as a convienent excuse to fall back into your old, comfortable habits (it's the inner fat person haunting you).
Just use the same techniques you've used in the past when you had to stand up to your "fears" and found that the "fears" were something you really didn't have to worry about afterall. Just hold your head up high and march right through them and you will find that when you are on the "other side" things are so much better, and you are glad you had the guts to press on.

Jenn:
Your doctor wants you to stabalize your blood sugars. You can't do that if you go long periods of time with out fuel. If you go 8 hours of sleep and then 4 or 5 hours more befor you refuel you are sabatageing your bodys efforts. Many people can't eat eggs, bacon, and toast, first thing in the morning, but you will find something you can like. Perhaps an orange soon after you wake up and then something lite a couple of hours later. Mayby a little chicken noodle soup. It doesn't have to be breakfast food and it doesn't have to be much. Especually if you are on medication you are going to have to give your body something to work with.
Lynn
Give your body a chance.
