at my highest weight I wouldn`t let anyone take pics of me so I don`t really have anything to compare with but after losing 22 lbs and starting to see something good in the mirror I let my guards down and let people take pics of me this past few months...Well I finally saw the results of those picture and it send me down a path of self doubting that hasn`t been fun!!!, top it with having taken a week off for rest and then the toe injury and I`ve let myself feel frustrated and keep going back to those pics and then it`s like picking at a sore tooth!!!
I`ve indulge with the food and felt like I was coming down with the flu...This morning is a new day and a new beginning since I CHOSE to make it so...And unfortunitly it will be a while before I let anyone take my pic because it has too much impact on my out look on things.....Leanbutt

I seem to look heavier in pictures because I think I am looking at myself in that "right angle" that makes me look best when I look at myself in the mirror. But yet, when tehre is a picture taken of me, it is the normal type view that everyone else sees you for... not always the angle I want. That is why everyone else looks normal to me in photographs, and I am the only heavy one.
But maybe that is just me... cause my skinny legs still surprise me in phtographs... just working on that midsection area, which is being stubborn to say the least.

The fact that I think it only applies in my case - e.g. I never think of any other person as looking fatter than they actually are in pictures except me - I therefore believe that our brain "edits" our perception of how we look. We've got to keep ourselves happy looking at ourself in the mirror daily, right?...LOL.

Yep, Michelle, I believe you to be right...our brain edits what we see in the mirror (or we'd be miserable!!!), but the photos sneak up and get us! In my recent pics, I seem to look a lot older than my daily perception of how old I am, and that's part of the same deal, since everyone else in the pics looks normal to me! Have a great weekend, Dee

Hi!!! I hate when the camera comes out at parties and special occasions. I go looking for something to do to stay away from the flash. I wear baggy clothes so no one can really see my state.
