I would think that you'd be able to see at least some difference now. Nine lbs and 6 days a week of working out should be helping to shape up your body. I'd bet that your clothes already feel different and fit better. The weight loss process is slow (at least for me). So, if you're typical of many of us on the board, you'll lose 1lb or less a week. So, if that's been your weightloss history, you could figure out how many weeks it will take you (if all continues to go perfectly) before you're at the first weight goal that you want to see. I personall have set intermediary goals so that I can assess how I look and feel at each point and so that I can pat myself on the back for making it that far.
I have also heard that to tone you should do more reps with lighter weights. However, several people on this board have posted that it's very difficult for women to "build" muscle. So, what you're doing may be OK. Gymmachine seems to be our workout guru. Perhaps he'll reply to your weight lifting question.
Keep up the good work.

Maybe your partner just isn't saying or maybe you don't have one, it's so not my business, but by three weeks of working out and maybe five pounds of weight loss, I could definately feel the difference in my wife's body. Everything was definately firmer and you could certainly feel the difference with a hug.
