You'd practically have to starve yourself on the Atkins diet in order to do that, and you probably will wind up gaining much of it back if you lose it that fast. 1-2 lbs. a week is much more moderate and reasonable.
You need to figure it this way, 3500 calories = 1 lb. of fat. With 7 days in a week, you should first find out from a nutritionist what your caloric intake should be, based on height, weight, and activity to sustain your CURRENT weight, then SUBTRACT 500 to 1000 calories per day off of that. I have heard actually, that once most people dip below 700 calories per day deficit, their metabolisms just start working more slowly and don't burn up as much fuel, hence they stay in a deficit of only 700 or so even though they've gone lower, because the body doesn't want to lose fat. That's just not the way it works. The human body stores fat for survival purposes, so trying to lose it quickly won't be easy. Some tips for maintaining a low caloric diet are to avoid sugar and refined grains at all costs. Sugar is in lots of sneaky places--watch out. Only eat whole grains. Get lots of green vegetables to fill up more quickly. Cook them if you have trouble digesting them. Most other foods vary per person, but naturally, you also want to avoid using animal fats. Stick with Extra Virgin Olive oil, flax seed oil, and maybe some unrefined sesame oil.
And remember, not only will exercising help you be able to enjoy more calories per day, it will also suppress the appetite to some extent.
