All week, I have been beginning to understand some of my food 'triggers', things that make me want to eat sugary foods, high in calories.
1.Corn chips
2. Anything with white flour or starch
3. unresolved issues with family
does anyone out there know what their triggers are?

One of mine is stress. If I've had a really lousy day at work or a really hectic school schedule, nothing sounds better than a big 'ol Papa John's pizza!! Followed, of course, by a handful of Captain Crunch cereal...yes, I know, I'm weird but at least I can admit it ;)

Life? I have to confess, I am a sweets addict. I love anything sweet and I always want a little something sweet. My sister just told me that if I'd stick to a low carb diet I'd crave sweets less. But, I don't want to crave them less. I love them......oh my......help, no don't help...... I'm so torn. No I'm not......the sweets have won, I am going to go have a hershey kiss.

What I started to do was substitute glazed carrots and sweet potatoes with brown sugar for the unhealthy sweets, if that helps.

Good post. I'd say anger and depression are my two top emotional triggers. Boredom would definately be one. I'm learning that fatigue is another biggie. If I'm really tired and for some reason I can't get to bed I find myself eating. The "can't" in that last statement also ties into another trigger which is control. When I don't have control of what I want to do, I find myself reaching for food. I just noticed that many of my triggers are inter-related. hmmmm very interesting...I guess one feeds the other, no pun intended lol. (ok, it was intended).

When I'm overwhelmed with work I eat to make myself feel better for having to work so hard.
