 treadmill and Bike!
Author: Amy

Hey Again
I am going to try something different from teh Elliptical machine today. I am going to try running on the treadmill for 15 minutes, biking on the bike machine for 15 minutes and THEN the elliptical machine for 15 minutes. Giving me a total of 45 minutes of cardio.
But, I get really burnt FAST on both the bike and the treadmill, especially the bike! What should I do? What should I try?
All suggestions helpful.
Oh, and while this subject si up, which bike is easier, better or more recomended:
The Rucumben or Upright?
Thanks!
Amy

Foming new habits (Re: treadmill and Bike!)

Hi Amy,

My take on healthy life/diet/exercise changes (and so many of us are essentially trying to form NEW HABITS) is this: "Take small steps, and you'll never look back!" I've never used a treadmill or an exercise bike (since I jog and bike ride outside in the neighbourhood), but when I first started jogging, I could NOT have jogged continuously for 15 minutes even if someone were paying me by the minute!!! Nowadays, i can jog for 20 - 30 minutes, but I had to build into that very gradually, over time. I like to ride a bike along with my kids, but we all have to take it steady up and down life's steep hills!! I love a "go get em" attitude, and i commend you for trying, but please don't risk injury if you get "burnt" fast on the bike and treadmill. A pal of mine has an exercise bike in her living room, and when she first started out, she was doing pedal one minute, rest 1 minute, although I should add that she is almost 60 years old. That's about how I started -- one minute on, and one minute off -- when I first started skipping rope last year (skipping rope is a real "burner" when you first start out), so I am a big believer in "small steps!"

Have a good workout,
Cheers,
Dee
