Hey, folks. I know i posted something like this earlier, but I don't think I got any responses. So, risking sounding repetitive, I want to ask how many people out there are using a trampoline (I saw a few on the Friday exercise postings), and what do you think of the workout you get? I know I"m finding my rebounding video extremely challenging and am looking forward to actually finishing it someday! lol

I kinda realized that it might attract undue attention after I put it as a subject heading and posted it. :):) Anyhow, sorry it wasn't more exciting...lol

i just got mine a couple of weeks ago....... i have got any videos or anything for it..... all i basically do is jump or jog in place on it. It's mostly because until my sis and bro-n-law move out, i can't really do anything else when it's raining. My treadmill is in storage.
i know when i started out i couldn't do more than jog/jump for like 2 mins at a time
so i started out doing that and rest for a couple of mins and did it until i completed a total of 10 mins.
Now i am doing 3 mins..... and i've increased my total to 12 mins.
i do think it helps cuz i know my heart rate gets up and usually i'm sweaty when i'm done.
i don't know what it does for your body....my main goals are to be more active and lose weight and feel better
i'm not worried as much about toning everything up
i have a bad back when it comes to lifting things so i'm scared to try any of the weight lifting everyone talks about.... I have to be careful in choosing which exercises i do...

I have one too, but until today it has been serving as a gate for my basement fire place for the last month or so (oops).
It came with a 20 min video that I had to scale down big time in order to get through it - haven't been able to actually jump that long, I usually just bounce with it and that is lots! It really gets the heart rate up and works the leg muscles, arm muscles (if you help 'pump') and even abs/obliques.
I am a kid at heart and would absolutely LOVE a big trampouline in my back yard but hubby is a little shy of what the neighbours would think seeing two grown, plump adults flying around the yard, lol.
-Niki - I too wondered what the title was refering too :-)

I thought "tramp" was going to be a diatribe against some vile female...
Anyway, I bought a mini trampoline at a garage sale last year, thinking it would be a fun way to exercise and also fun for my kids to jump around on. After a couple of times jumping for 10 - 15 minutes, I was bored. It's okay, but there are lots of other ways to burn those ol' calories. My son (age 10 and skinny!) uses it in front of the swing set or fort to swing and ump off onto, or jump down from the fort - he gets a kick out of it. We still jump on it sometimes, but not much.
Another way to use it is for a "target" in learning to pitch or throw a ball and it pretty much comes back to you. It forces you to narrow down and control your throw. My son is a lefty and it's been hard for us righties to teach him how to throw a ball. Just some thoughts if you happen to have one that's now not getting used for actual exercise equipment!
