Ok here is the deal. I am 22, just married, and feel really bad about myself. I use to be so much smaller than i am. I am 5' 1" and 140 lbs. I should be at like 128 lbs. I am worried that i am going to just keep getting bigger. See i high school i never had to worry about my weight. Now it is catching up with me. The thing that really scared me is that both side of my family are big people. I don't want that to happen to me. You would think that would be enough to motivate me, but it's not. I don't work out. I know big problem. Well i do walk my dog. I will eat anything even if i am not hungry. I feel like i have some uncontrollable disease to eat all the time. It really scares me. I want to loose and i know i need to loose, but i just cann't get myself to do it. Can anyone give me some suggestions on what to do?

You know you are right in asuming that you might get bigger if you keep up this way....Some survays came up with the idea that married people are bigger.....I know that it is sometime harder to stay focused and motivated when you cook for more then just yourself but now is a great time for you to start thinking healthier so that you and your new hubby can spend a lifetime together.....Start by making changes in the way you buy groceries and cook....Opt for the leaner cuts of meat, lower fat items and healthier snacks...It`s easy to eat what you have in the home so if you keep high calorie and high fat food and snacks , chances are you will eat those....The web has great sites to get informed on a good balanced nutrition....And as far as getting in shape physicaly, see if your new hubby won`t join you at the gym or bike rides , brisk walks etc... The bond that you already share will only benefit by sharing physical activities....Good luck hope this help and oh yea. restrictions are self punishments, pride in using comon sense and moderation is a great reward....Fattybutt

Hey thanks for the help. I have started doing better on my eating. I feel like i don't eat as much food as i use to during the day. i have slowly started put working out into my routine. My husband wants me to loose this weight, but i can't seem to get him off the sofa to walk with me. I really need his support. He is not a big person at all, but everyone could use the exerise. I will keep work on it. thanks again.

Not to be rude but a healthier lifestyle also increases sexual appetite!!! It`s one of those well kept secret yea know...Anyway after my having taking over the cooking since january, my husband without trying has lost 10 lbs!! Now he`s also mentionning walking with me...It`s hard cause he works 12 hr shifts and on his days off there is always something that comes up but at least he talks about it now, that`s a step forward..he.he.Good luck...

Wainscott, Congratulations that you realized you need to do something about your old habits. Walking the dog is a good start, you can increase the duration of your walking time and increase the intensity once you gain more stamina. Don't bring tempting, unhealthy food into the house. The idea is simply this; if it's not there, you can't eat it! If you must eat it, buy only in small quantity at a time. Do you have too much free time at hands? Most people tend to fill in the time by grabbing junk foods. Find active hobbies that can keep you occupied or get away physically from food sources (kitchen) ;)
Remember, only YOU can make fit happen.

I just wanted to update everyone. I have not lost any weight yet. I have started taking vitaimins. Which are helping and i have started workout a little bit. I figured i better start slow and work my way up. I am doing a little better on my eating habits. They still need improvement. I still can't get my husband to go walk with me or anything. He is a very little person. I think that he could use the excrise to to help build up some muscle. He does want to be a cop. Anyways things are getting there for me, just very slowly. I will get there. My goal is to lose 22lbs by the end of the year. Is that health or not? Thanks everyone for your support it really helps.
