No, I don't think there is such thing as too much water.... I have never heard of it before, I have heard of if you drink like 16 gallons a day you can become drunk because there is more water in your bloodstream than water, but im sure not too many people drink that much water a day! haha. Are you experiencing something with drinkin too much water? But water is the best thing for you, it flushes out all the toxins, and is so healthy for you. Drink up!

actually yes there is a possibility of drinking too much water- in fact unfortunately if you drink too much you will explode- and i'm not even joking- it's just a fact that you cant handle more than a certain amount of water. The amount you should have is at least 10 8oz glasses a day- and for every 50 pounds you are overweight, one more glass- but thats it- finito! Good luck!

Actually, there is such a thing as too much water, but you'd have to drink something like 3 quarts all at once to reach a life-threatening stage of water intoxication, according to WebMD. I've heard of people causing their own deaths by drinking too much water, but it's very rare, and these people usually have mental problems. So unless you drink absolutely ridiculous amounts of water, the only problem you're going to have is needing frequent trips to the bathroom.

I have also heard of people trying to beat drug tests dying because they drank too much water. But I think they were trying to drink gallons of it during a single day.

Actually, there's a chemist in Montreal, Dr. Joe Schwarz, who claims that most people don't really need all the water they drink. We get a lot of water from fruit, vegetables, other drinks, etc. I hope I'm not misquoting him but I think he suggests that you just drink when you're thirsty, after exercising, or are very hot. Maybe the water craze is being promoted by the bottled water industry.
I wouldn't discourage people from drinking water, but don't feel guilty if you don't chug great quantities every day.

My last go at losing weight I passed out from over hydration.
An empty stomach and rapidly drinking alot of water in a short period of time is what happened to me. I was studying for school and it was late a night. I wound up sick, being taken to the hospital and put on an IV. The concentration of salt in my blood was lowered.
That's about all I know :)

I have heard you should drink your body weight in ounces of water.
Has anyone else heard this?
So I would drink 210 ounces of water in a day. That would be? 26--8oz glasses of water...

it is one ounce of water for every TWO lbs. So, cut that in half and you will be ok. :)
