This is the same post as below but I wanted people to see it before it left the page:
ANNE MARIE
I certainly find your posts extremely offensive, even though they are not directed totally at me, you do call me "ignorant" and whatever other choice of words you have for someone who does not have your opinion. You are ten times more criticial and mean hearted than your accusers. I will ask you once again to either keep your mean spirited comments to yourself and your "pro atkins posts" to a limit or to go somewhere else. People come here for SUPPORT and a PRACTICAL Weight LOSS discussion. Though you are more than welcome to post your opinion there is no point to getting nasty about people who do not believe what you believe. Eat Less and Exercise = Losing weight. It really is that simple. Don't bring your negativism and your condescending to this board.
MELANIE
I am curious to know if this stuff can be stopped. Since you are the owner of the site. You have some say as to what can be posted. Please let me know if there is some kind of solution to this madness. I truly want people to know (as I am sure you do) how to lose weight sensibly, exercise sensibly, and that there are nice, unselfish, uncondescending people here to support them. I can not tell you how much I have enjoyed this site. However, there does need to be a limit to the criticism. Thank you for your time!!!!!

Hi Julie,
I think you were reacting (as I did further down on the page) to being called "ignorant", and I did not like that either, as I already said in my earlier post. However, although I am not the owner of this site, I wonder if you have considered the "free speech" angle of this. I too am tired of the recent bickering, and tired of much of the page being devoted to the Atkins Diet but I don't see how it is possible to limit it without infringing on people's basic rights of free speech. Jus my 2 cents worth, and Jus me

I have no problem with the free speech but there are limitations. I was just curious if the posts could be kept to a minimal. I said that I had no problem with her posting her opinion however, I do not think criticism of others is needed. Just curious is all. I AM ALL FOR FREE SPEECH, have at it. But I do not want to be criticized because I do not have the same opinions as the speaker. Pretty simple :)

I do delete the posts that are blatant ads, as well as the "troll" posts.
But I do not delete "opinionated" posts.
"Jus me" is right about the free speech angle - I do not want to be like a "big brother" censoring the board :-) Heck, I even did not delete the posts that were criticizing ME at one point... trust me, I had a great urge to do so, but I resisted for the "free speech" sake :-)
My opinion is that if you don't like a particular poster, just don't open his/her messages. After all, this is all subjective - you can't please everyone, some people might love your opinion, and others hate it... and who am I to judge.
Best regards,
Melanie
