Everyone is doing so well on this web-site! I would like to know how Melody lost the weight that she did.

There has got to be a easy answer, but i haven't found it yet! I think my problem is not in the 'eating part of it, it's in the moving part of it! I need energy to get going!
I"m starting to feel bad or guilty if i don't work-out everyday! i guess this is good, but it's getting on my nerves! ha-ha! Thanks to anyone that can help me!
summer is coming and i want to be ready! my kids would like to go to the pool alot, and i want to be comfortable and feeling/looking good in a swim suit!

any answers would be of great help!!

A comitment to yourself is #1 in my book, #2 is to only expect results from what you put in(if you don`t work out and don`t watch what you eat the results won`t be what you want) #3 is that there is No Easy solutions....I think that evryone on this site can vouch to the fact that whatever results or mini victories they have achived has come from truly wanting it to happen and then making it happen...Find something that you truly enjoy doing and it will be easier to do and the more you exercise the easier it does become and it gives such a good feeling that you want to do more...Good luck G

It is just one step at a time until us dieters can find the "MIRACLE PILL" we are all stuck slowly but surely losing weight. When you go shopping park as far away from the door and walk a bit further. Pass up on those sweets. Go to Fitday.com and fill that out daily and keep track of what you are puttin in your body and how much of it you are burning. And by all means make sure you check in here daily hourly minute for any kind of help.

......."Everyone is doing so well on this web-site! I would like to know how Melody lost the weight that she did."

First. I can honestly say that the support I have gotten here has gone a long ways in helping keep me motivated.

Second, something just flipped a switch in me and said "that's it NO MORE FAT!"
I started working out at the gym and eating less. And for the most part what i eat is sensible, and NOT junk. I used to be a couch potatoe and if I don't make a conscious effort I will sit at the computer for a good part of the day. So I stay busy and go to the gym and sweat my butt off literally. I think the fact that I am "obese" means that the fat is melting off faster than that of a thin person. I have been fat all my life. I hit my all time high weight this past year at 350. That was a major shock and depressing day for me. I am now at 308. I dont' know why I let it get that far out of controll. I dont' know why I had to get so heavy before I decided to do something about it. I do know that for the last two and a half yrs my marriage has not been happy. I am using that as a boost now though, to get myself out of the door and do something about my body and my self image. If I end up single with 3 kids, who would want me at 350 lbs. My kids are also a big motivation for me. I want to be able to play with them and not get tired.

I know that I have not explained really HOW I am doing it. I can't explain it. I just know that what I am doing is working for me, even when I think I am "plateauing" I wait a few days, or even "rest" for a couple of days, then boom. the scale is down 2 more pounds. It is an awesome empowering feeling to SEE progress, too.. I don't know how many people actually really look at themsleves in the mirror. I mean really LOOK. I know it sounds wierd to hear someone talk about it, i guess, but yesterday I actually looked at myself in the mirror in my birthday suit. (all stretched and saggy) It did not look as disgusting as it did 5 months ago. I can see a big difference now! I also measured myself again. I've lost nearly 4 inches around my hips alone! 2 inches in my waist. etc....

I am truelly dedicated and motivated. I see in my future (at least mid 2004) a tummy tuck. I will need it after losing apporx 150 pounds!

Melody
ps, i did not start out this post to be a life story. ..... lol

thank you for being so honest ! i think you are doing great! i know how hard it is to lose a few pounds, can't imagine what it's like to lose a bunch! even though some people don't have to lose as much as other people, doesn't mean it's not hard! i'm doing this for myself and my kids too! i want them to be proud of me! I want my husband to be proud of his wife! it never hurts to look and feel good! my husband is quitting smoking, and i'm trying to lose weight, so we are both working on something hard, but good for us. please keep up the good work! you have helped me stay focused just with your story! i may need up bugging you to death with questions, but it seems to me you are doing all the right things! keep going girl! thnaks again!

Melody you can write as long as you please!!! You deserve it with all the work you put it....I`m pulling for you and I am not a marriage counscellor but I found out last spring that once I started feeling better about myself and more energetic I was less of a "bit**" which in turn opened up a brand new world of comunication and probably saved my marriage...We sat down and had a honest to goodness talk ( I had begged him to go fishing with friends for a week so that we could first have a few days to think and decide what we really wanted) and you know once you go back and think of what brought you together and started realising that most of it was still there if we pay attention, we rediscovered each other....This year in May will be 13 years for us and I can honestly say that the last year was the closest to what I envisionned marriage to be LOL, I think I went into it 13 years ago with rose colored glasses on...Once we had a good talk with no blaming on each others side, we started moving forward in the same maner as weightloss, one step at a time...One major change was that we made time for each other so that we could become a couple again and not just G&H parents...We don`t spend tones of money , but instead of him being plopped in front of the t.v. and me doing whatever we will actually sit down and talk and get to know the other one better...I at one point thought that there was no hope...I was wrong and I am glad to have been...Thought I shared that info with you G.

Thanks, Leany!
It helps to know that other people face similar relationship struggles too.
