Hi, My name is Ashley and I am new here. I just found this site/board. I need something to help me lose this weight I gained from having my first baby. I gained 70 lbs!!!
Here is my question. I was at a Christmas party over the weekend and some of the people there were talking about diets, and weight loss measures. One of the people at the party was saying that they have used carb and fat blocker pills. She said that it really works, but I had never met her before, so I don’t know for sure and it was not really the place to drill her with questions. The one she tried was called Weight Defense. Have any of you ever tried a fat or carb blocker type of a product? Does it work? Supposedly, these type of products help level off your caloric intake by blocking carbohydrates and fats. It seems too easy.
If any of you have tried this, let me know. I have been trying to eat right and exercise, but I can’t seem to drop that last 40 lbs.
Thanks

Fat bockers may be a little hard to control...our bodies need some fat--what if it blocks ALL the fat you have had and you are so deficient it cause your body to go into starvation mode? Not good. Carb blockers may be useful for those that cannot give up carbs though....didn't know they existed! Ever tired going without carbs? Not easy...but the weight whooshes off...

Hi, I just read your post and I am atleast 75lbs overweight (had a baby also)
But I just saw a news show about those carbblockers, it said that the main thing in it is wheatgerm, it also said there is not enough in those pills to block the carbs or fat! , I have tried everything in the book these past 16months and haven't lost a whole lot with the quick fix methods.I think losing weight is the hardest thing that I have do! Good luck

i would be a bit suss of carb-blockers too, because if they really did work there would be more hype around them surely....anyway even if they did block carbs, why not go on the atkins diet lol

Wheat germ is really good for you, but the carbtrapper doesn't have enough to work as good as it should Maybe if you used it then used more wheatgerm in your yogurt it might be effective.

To have the luxury of eatings carbs and know that some of them will be blocked--meaning you can eat more than 20 grams on the Atkins if this wheatgerm stuff is true---because the rest will be excreted... Believe me it is freakin hard on that diet..(says she three days in) but the results are going to be well worth it...

Ahh you mean mix it with the carb itself and then take it? Sounds like a good idea...if it is true. Will have to do a search...
