Is there any nutritional value in refined sugar? I don't mean sugar that is found naturally in foods, like the sugar in fruits. If we cut out all sugar in processed foods would we still get enough sugar from natural foods. Or is it even necessary to get sugar from natural foods?
Thanks.

Thanks for the sites. I had no idea there was that much sugar in food items we don't really think would have sugar. Much less those things we know have sugar such as cookies, ice cream etc.

There is one thing that people need to understand...simple or complex carbohydrates really don't make any difference inside your body. They will be converted to glucose no matter the source or kind.
To answer your question: NO, simple sugars don't not have any nutitional value inside your body. They will be used as anergy when or as needed, but in most cases it will be used imediatley.
To answer your second question: YES, you do need it. Don't get me wrong, carbohydrates are NOT essential for survival, but they are the primary energy source used by your brain and central nervous system.
