Ok, I am not sure if I am going to be able to explain my problem well, but I am going to try. After jogging, my knees feel full. They don't hurt or anything like that. However, when I walk up a set of stairs, they make fluidy squishy noises with each step. Again, it doesn't hurt it just feels tight and the noise is gross.
So, my question is, if I have no pain, should I worry about the tightness and fluidy squishyness. Also, will this go away or is it likely to get worse. If so, what can I do about it since I don't want to give up this workout? I am jogging 3 miles at about 12 min a mile. If find that I alternate between quick short strides and slower, longer strides.
Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated

::thinking:: swelling in the knees? You might want to have a doctor check that cause that could easily get worse.

not reassuring, thanks I guess :-( But, it's not like there's visible swelling and it doesn't hurt, it just feels weird and it's not there an hour or so after my jog. Are you keying into the hesitation to go to a doctor. ::pouting::

Tonya, you are talking about your knee..it's important if something like that is occuring to have it checked out.

Thanks Ken, I know you're right. I leave for vacation tomorrow, so I'll have to try and do something with it when I get back. Unless, someone else says that it's not a bad thing and won't be a problem (clinging to denial - losing my hold)

ok, this should really do it to make you get to the doctor about it.
The kneecap sits on a cushion of joint fluid. You are talking about feeling a squishy feeling that you can hear? That should be a pretty big red flag hun

Thanks Ken and you and I both know you're right. My dad gave me the raised eye brows when I mentioned it to him too. He jogs and has never had that feeling in his knees. So, it looks like no jogging while I'm on vacation this week and then it's to the DR when I get back. I am freaking out a little about getting in a good cardio all this week. I guess I'll pack my aerobic and tae bo tape and see if I can find a place to use it. I am bummed though, I love the quiet time when I jog. It's kind of like my time to regroup and destress. Ok, enough feeling sorry for myself. NO more pouting, happy face is on (it's crooked but it's one, I'll work on it)

hmm try just walking it. Does that give you the same feeling? At least if you walk, you won;t lose the quiet time and you will still get some exercise
