well i can foresee a problem with me here
it seems that every special occasion that comes up i have a hard time getting past
Easter, my nephew's birthday, and now mother's day
each time there have been dinners and whatever going on and i've given myself the freedom to eat wahtever i wanted that day.....but to try and do it in moderation
and each time it seems to take days to get passed it... i keep wanting to cheat and eat too much
it's like i'll go all day the next day trying to stay on track and that night i'm just hungry and i'll wait and wait and eventually i'll give up and go eat wahtever i want
Today is Tuesday.... mother's day was over ..... ok well it's now Wednesday lol Mother's day was over 50 hours ago...... i should no longer be cheating
i did really well up until about an hour ago i was at 2040 cals... my limit is 2000
so i accidentally went over.... i didn't realize just how man cals were in watermelon!
But i thought that is it for today.....then i was in here cleaning and doing some stuff and it's like i just HAD to go have a bite of something more....and i gave up
i fell off the wagon and had another snack... 200 cals worth
I don't want to not allow myself any cheat days whatsoever because i think i'd probalby give up the whole idea if i could not have certain things once in a while
but how can i get myself past these days and not let it go OVER that one day?
I know it's probably all in my mind....
anyway thanks for listening

I've been at this about six weeks and have had ... donuts, chocolate cake, potato chips, pretzels, rhubarb pie and chocolate fudge. But I have a very small piece and really savour each crumb. Seriously it took me almost 10 minutes to eat a cubic inch of fudge. And I ditched the edge crust of my pie.
Now this might be my imagination but it works for me. Eating sugar and carbs makes me want more sugars and carbs. So I try to eat them late in the day, drink lots more water and go to bed. Another trick I use is counting the calories before I eat. If it's gonna be too much, I have a smaller piece or have something else.
Hope that was helpful. We are among good company here. Lots of folks struggle with night snacking.
