morning (well afternoon here)
i know it is imperative that we all drink a lot of water. Someone told me not to count soft drinks such as diet cola, but that some soft drink were ok to count. I don't drink many soft drinks but i love sparkering water. I am asumming that this is fine to add to the water count. Could someone let me know if iam right or wrong
Thanks for you help

I believe that even if it's caffeinated, any liquid "counts" toward your water total, if you keep track of that. Maybe you drink a little more to make up for caffeine's diuretic effect, but that's not significant, I think. I've lost 85 pounds drinking mostly coffee, Diet Coke and iced tea, and I only drink when I feel like it. Yes, it's important to get enough water, but unless the weather is very hot or you're a very active person, you don't have to force feed yourself liquids. Your body will let you know when it needs water by making your thirsty, most of the time. Water is not a magic weight loss tool--it's all about the calories, not the liquids.

There are alot of different theories on if it counts or not. All I can say is I drink alot of diet coke and tea now and still losing weight without being dehydrated. Just watch for caffine levels and the like. I don't think you have anything to worry about
