sodium makes me blow up like a balloon. I've noticed several times, If I happen to eat a pickle (no fat, almost no calories) or something like that (mmmm, someone mentioned sauerkraut!!!) olives, pickled okra etc...... when I weigh in the next day, I have several extra unwanted pounds back on!!!
So, now when I shop I've added the sodium content to my list of things to watch for.
no partially hodrogenated oils (if i can help it)
moderate to low carbs (with good dietary fiber)
low fat
low to moderate calories
and now low sodium
geez, why doesn't the government just ban all the bad stuff and it would be soooo much easier!!!!! (insert big belly laugh here!)

lol cause sodium in itself isn't bad. In fact it's needed in our bodies to live.
It is good to watch out from overdoing the sodium especially for blood pressure

I also blow up like a balloon after eating that stuff. If I eat it at night, I am up all night tossing and turning and really hot. The salt gets to me.

I always ignore things that do not have a long term effect on weightloss. This includes sodium. If you are trying to lose 170 pounds a few pounds of water is insignificant. Unless you have high blood pressure or some other medical condition I would not worry about how much salt you eat
Weight from water comes and goes quickly, what really matters is how much fat your are losing. And when it comes to losing fat what really matters is how many calories you are eating.
