ohhhh slim fast... yes yes I remember that. I tried that first when I didn't know anything about weight loss. And i don't know if i'd recommend it. THe thing is, the shakes taste pretty good but the actual diet (which is two shakes and a meal right?) is pretty hard to follow. I guess if you can make yourself abide by it then that's pretty impressive but if you can, then you can have the willpower to cut down on calories in general which in my opinion, is more satisfying anyway. Plus there is nothing in slim fast that actually makes weight disappear it's just basically consumming less calories, and it's only vitamens i think. I was once told that EAS shakes (like the EAS lite ones) taste good and are more protein and are a better subsitute, but even then it's hard to judge how you'll be once you're off of them. I don't know, maybe i don't have any idea what i'm talking about, but i've definitely tried it and haven't found it to be special over normal dieting. Even though i know it looks tempting.

well, i dont' know about you but i need more to eat during the day, than 2 cans of liquid and a dinner. One shake for breakfast will not fill me up and get me going. I would be starving my 10am. Then lunch time.......there is no way a shake would satisfy me. I need solid food... lol....

I think your body needs more solid fuel for health purposes. I can't remember why, but I think I've read somewhere that its bad to consume too many liquid meals a day. I'm sure somebody here can tell us why.

I GAINED weight like crazy! Re: slim fast

Hi Ya,

I tried Slim Fast when I first started to try to lose weight (at my all-time high of 150 lbs), and i gained weight like crazy cakes!!! First, the problem was that the chocolate and coffee flavors (and the Strawberry) taste like a milk shake. Because of that, I felt that i had my 'drink", but no meal, so I would go off looking for something to eat, and wash it down with the Slim fast "shake." Even if I bought a flavor I didn't care for as much as chocolate and coffee, drinking my meals just didn't cut it for me...I REALLY needed something to chew on!! I gave up on Slim fast when i realised that I was gaining weight, and learned to eat sensibly at the 3 main meals and the 2 or 3 little snacks I have each day. Sorry to say this, but Slim Fast doesn't teach anyone to eat sensibly, so i had to learn that on my own via trail and error. Just my 02 cents worth as usual, and sorry I have nothing good to say about it! Have a great eveening, Dee

 Slim Fast as meal replacement

I have been eating a Slim Fast meal replacement bar for breakfast 5 days a week (during work week) for 6 months. I think if you eat a S.F. bar or drink a shake as one of an ideal 6 meals a day, it's fine. Their idea of drinking two shakes a day, and having one regular meal is based on a calorie deficit. I wouldn't use it as they say. Again, I think it is fine to use S.F. shakes/bars, or any other kind of meal replacement, only as a sub for 1 meal a day. Along with eating 6 meals a day, and exercising 5 days a week, I have lost 48 pounds in 5 1/2 months.

Hi I think that's a great idea! I have lost 55lbs eating a cup of cheerios and low fat milk in the morning 8:00am. Fruit snack or other around 11:00am. When i get to work at 2:00pm I drink a slim fast shake. at around 4:00 another small snack. At 6:00pm a turkey sandwich or big salad. Turkey sandwich with everything. Salad no dressing. At 8:00 pm another small snack.

For snacks i eat: pretzels, baked chips, Fruits, vegeatables, for chips pretzels like 10 pcs of each. Or other healthy substitutes.

Lots of water or Diet soda with meal

Slim fast provides me with vitamins and i don't feel draggy or drowsy.

Also cheerios has a lot of vitamins so those two combined in the morning and afternoon are great!

it took me 5 months. But let me emphasize that I work out an hour on the stepper 6 days of the week and moderate weight training 3 days out of the week for 20 minutes That's all.

Im' still doing this same thing because i need 50 more pounds to go. I was a really heavy guy at 280lbs

at first I started walking for 15 minutes a day and then up to an hour a day. Now I use the stepper wich is cool! watch tv, listen to the radio at the same time and all while doing excersise. I don't get bored at all.
