I forgot to post this last week, but it is still in my mind so here goes...
Last week I went shopping. I had lost 15lbs and my 16's were so baggy they were gross, so I put them in the give away pile and thought I'd go buy a couple of capris or something. I went to my favorite store and pulled 14's off the shelf. (an improvement, but certainly not an "arrival" point for me) Well, in the dressing room, they slid on like butter, but as I turned and admired myself, I noticed that these were going to have the saggy butt sydrome in a matter of weeks. I asked the clerk to get my a size 12. (NOW we're talking!) They went on nicely too, but still a bit snug to be flattering and modest. So, I left without any pants. I will go back in a few weeks. It is April, we just got 10in of snow, so I was not going to be wearing them soon anyway. I will wait and then just go for the 12's on the racks. Also, I found a cute top that was in a color that really flatters my coloring. I instinctively grabbed the XL, and put it on, and saw what a sack it was on me. I was amazed. I again asked the clerk to downsize for me and the L looked amazing on me. I have lost just nearly 20lbs, but it is definitely an improvement. I can't wait for the next 20 to come off! I have enjoyed shopping for my kids, but never myself...guess the clothes budget will be going into MY wardrobe for a while!

That must feel great!
I haven't had the joy of shopping for smaller sizes just yet, as I am still trying to re-lose the 15 lbs I re-gained when my weight loss efforts wained. However, before that, I had lost 30-ish lbs and had bought several new pants. One pair in particular seemed to fit and not fit with a fluctuation of 2-3 lbs so I would often use them as a guage of how I was doing, that was before the 15 crept back on.
I am still working on those 15 lbs but decided today to motivate myself by trying on those pants. It's getting warm here finally and the light cotton material is no longer too thin to wear outside. Well, I was expecting to feel the waistband dig into my stomach (the standard too-big feel of these pants) when to my surprise, they went on and are feeling quite fine right now!
I know I am still heavier than when I bought them, but perhaps I have built up more muscle along my middle than I had before, letting these feel better. This is much more encouraging than having the pants hurt to wear.
I still have other clothes in the closet that don't fit yet, some I had bought deliberately small and am trying to fit into them, but I will get there.
