Ok I have a regular dial scale. But it keeps fluctuating on my weight. I try to put it between the same squares on my floor every morning. But this morning at first it said 140. I have stuck to my diet, stayed under my calorie intack and exercised like crazy and I gained two lbs? !!!!!!! Then I reset my scale and moved it just a tad and it said 137. I like that better.I've been 138 all week still. I want to be accurate thought, I don't want to be just guessing, or lets take this weight cause its lower. Do you have the same problem with a digital scale? And does any one have any suggestions on making this scale more accurate? My cloths keep getting looser so I know I can't be staying the same weight too. Almost all my pants are getting altered right now.

Thanks
Melissa

Yes, my digital scale does that! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
But like you said, I try to place it in the same position, and it has been pretty accurate.

if you seem to have gained even though you are doing everything right, it could be just water retention, or sodiun intake.

Dont worry about it.
Keep going!

I have a love/hate relationship with my scale. I absolutely love it when I lose weight, hate it when I gain.

I weigh myself almost every morning, though, I only see my dietician once every 2-3 months. She claims I should only weigh myself when I see her, but, I can't help myself!!

I've thought many times of just throwing my scale away and only getting weighed at the dietician's office, but I can't bring myself to do it. I'm so afraid if I don't keep VERY CLOSE tabs on myself, I'll gain weight. UGHH!!

Try weighing yourself a few times in a row. If the scale has a problem you will see it.

I NEVER adjust the zero on my scale. It reads a few pounds off but what really matters is if it is goingup or down, not the absolute number. If you keep messing with the zero it throws things off.

It is normal for my weight to fluctuate a few pounds from day to day.

I had the same problem with my old dial scale so I immediately got one of those Tanita Bodyfat scales. The weighing part I feel is very accurate and it never fluctuates. Now the bodyfat part, I feel it fluctuates very much. What I would suggest is gettting a digital scale if you choose to throw out your old dial scale.

Wow. I heard just the opposite. I heard dial scales are recommended over digital because they don't tend to be so fussy. I have found that to be true in my case. we bought a really expensive dial scale and it always makes sense and is very accurate.

My digital scale is picky and I can fluctuate my weight by like three lbs. by putting more pressure on my heels or toes. Now not only do I put it in the same square( thought I was the only one who does that) but I also try to stand the same way...sheesh! I figure as long as I'm hovering in the same general area or lower then I'm doing well.
