 resisting temptation

I hope that a little bragging is OK here. Tonight I was at a football game with my daughter - who ate 1 hagandaz bar and a bag of popcorn right next to me. I tasted (just enough to get my tongue wet) the ice cream and completely resisted the popcorn. It was so hard to do but I just came off a 3 week plateau and am hoping to break through the 180 mark this week - a number I've not seen for close to 10 years.

It felt good resisting though I did sigh with relief when the popcorn bag was empty.

Wishing you all some will power this week.....

I think that`s awesome...I also believe that "tasting just enough to get your tongue wet" was a smart move that may have help avoid a binge later...It`s important that you do not feel deprived at time...I bet that knowing you did witouth made you feel proud and I know you`ll get to your goal for this week with that attitude...G

That's not bragging. That's inspiration. We need to be reminded that we reign over food, it does not control us.

I think that taste of icecream is a particularly important note. Sometimes all we need is that sinfully delicious taste. Instead of the cereal bowl full we used to eat.

So that wasn't bragging, it was a very good post.

Congrats! Not everyone has that kind of control, be proud of yourself :)

I'll do that too, if my son has an ice cream cone or something I'll say, "Can mommy have a little bite?" and I take one little nibble, just enough to taste it. That usually satisfies me, since I was never a big sweet-eater to begin with. But sometimes you just need a treat now and then. I bought myself some orange-pineapple frozen yogurt that's absolutely wonderful.
