 realization about exercising

Today I finially got off my butt and got on my treadmill! I decided to do 20 min. I made those minutes count, even jogged for 5 of them! I've decided to aim for 20 minutes everyday. And this is doable for me.
The thing is, I always looked at exercise as a chore, which I guess it is. I always thought I didn't have time for it. I always looked at it in terms of an hour or two and I'm very busy, I already have a lot on my plate, so to speak, and I don't have time for anything else, especially something that's going to take up so much of my time. I mean there's only 24 hours in the day!.....Then something hit me today. There's 24 hours in a day! That's 72 twenty minute periods! If I exercise for 20 minutes a day, I'm only spending 1/72 of my day exercising! If you look at it in those terms, it's barely anytime at all! It hardly means a thing...Oh, but it means a lot to my body! That's 20 minutes more I'm getting my heart rate up, that's 20 min. more I'm sweating off fat, that's 20 min. more I'm dedicating to my overall health! Those 20 min. are just a fragment of my day, but they can and will change my life!

LOL!!! I'm beginning to sound like a curves commercial! :)

Yes, sometimes it might seem like a chore before you do the treadmill and sometimes you have to fit in into a busy day, but if you just keep in mind how good and energized you feel afterwards it is worth the effort :-)

That's all the cardio I do everyday is 20 minutes...I also lift weights everyday too so my work out time is usually about 50 minutes to one hour.

Lady, I think you and I have talked before about how we are alike in really not liking to exercise. I feel the same way you do. Your "realization" is great. I am also going to start thinking of it as ONLY 1/72 of my day. That really puts it in perspective doesn't it. If I can't spend 1/72 of my day contributing to what I am working so hard on with my diet, then wow I have a problem! :)

Hi. I do the same thing, and every day I aim to burn more calories than the last, even doing just the 20 minutes. It keeps me motivated, but doesn't burn me out!
