I have a daughter who is eleven years old and needs to lose some weight. She is tall for her age at 5 feet, but weighs 130 lbs.
It's very hard to put a little girl on a "diet" without damaging her self esteem. It's also hard to never let her have candy or any kind of junk food when other kids get to have it.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks...

For one she shouldn't go on a diet. She really just needs good nutrition and a little exercise to get her metabolism going. She needs to be a kid and enjoy the fun foods. She needs to be able to know when she has had enough. Obesity rate in the U.S. for children has gone up 20% in the past year and it basically has to be broken down to eatting habits. Fast Food, Flash cooking, Processes foods, etc. Eatting fresh fruits and vegetables without boiling them will help to supply more nutrition for her. Also eatting 3 meals per day will also get her metabolism stable, without the yo-yo effect. Whatever you do with her, change it for the family as well. This way you are all learning together and make it A WAY OF LIFE.
