Welcome Shell,
What's your story, where are you at, and where do you want to be?
There reason you are going up and down is because you're not yet willing to "kiss your old life" goodbye.
In order to remove the weight and keep it off, you've got to accept the fact that you can NEVER, EVER, EVER go back to the way you lived before (for most of us that means overeating unhealthy foods and shunning exercise).
So it is not just a matter of "dieting," and removing weight--it is finding a comfortable lifestyle (which includes healthy eating and exercise) you can live with for the rest of your life. That is a scary proposition for all of us, but a sacrafice we all must make if we want to MAINTAIN the lean, healthy body we've worked so hard to achieve.

Hi,
I am pretty new around here so in the beginning I took the time to read a lot of what people were doing about their own personal struggles with weight. Everyone here is not losing with the same process and speed but everyone seems to have good ideas about getting motivated and making it happen.
Bottom line, you can't eat more calories than you burn in a day. What you eat, how much, and how much you want to exercise is up to you and will have to fit your lifestyle, age, work, kids etc.
Stick around. Even if you don't start a new lifestyle right away, come back and "visit". Everyone needs support - that's what we're doing here.

Thank you so much for that Fabulous@50. I have been fighting with lossing weight the last couple of days, doing the same things I've been doing. And gaining weight. I definitely haven't wanted to kiss that old body goodbye. But now I do. Each time I pick up a soft drink and drink it, its not helping me, its hurting me. (Soft drinks have been a big problem to me. When I start drinking them. I don't want to stop. So I'm going cold turkey. I'm switching to water, and Kroger has a light Cran. Grape that is very good). I'm ready and I'm going to do it. That was the push I needed. Thank you very much.

i started to gain weight when i got comfortable with my husband. before i knew it i was 50 over weight. i would go up and down for a long time but just with ten pounds then i really stuck to it and went from 180 to 158 and at that point i felt great. then i decided to stay home with my daughter and i was eating everything she was and more and the weight came back on so now i am back to the 170 and want it gone bad. i know when i am overeating and i know what is bad for me i just need to stick to it and i need the support. like people askin me how i did today or did i write down what i ate. also for me its staying away from all the bad foods that go right to my hips i just need the encounge ment thanks for the comments though it helped out more than u know
