According to the chart on this website, at my height and frame size, I should be aiming for 145 pounds. Years ago, when I was 155 pounds, many people told me I was "too thin" and that I looked sick. Looking back on pictures of myself at that time, I see that my face was *VERY* thin, and I did look sick (in the face) but my body was what I would call awesome. I can't imagine going another 10 pounds lower than that. Also, my sister-in-law looks great...wears sexy clothes and looks good in them. You would guess her to be around 140 and she wears a size 10 (she's probably 5'8" or 5'9") but she actually weighs 202 pounds. I didn't believe her and made her step on the scales in front of me to prove it. She isn't a very muscular person- so her high weight can't be attributed to that. Is it possible that some people are just....oh, I don't know..."heavy-boned"? Does that even make sense? LOL! Just a thought...

Havent you learned that nobody and I mean nobody looks great at their IDEAL weight. Okay well maybe some do. Anyways I have never gone by those charts because if I do I am too fat in my eyes. Also you have to take in account your muscles and your height and your build size and all that. You know when you look good not some set chart. The most important thing is your BMI and a lot of places can check those out for you. If that is high then you want to do something about them.
Good luck and don't sweat the Ideal weight

I know exactly what you mean. Both of my children look 'normal' but try to pick one up! They weigh a ton. In fact my daughters friend wears the same size clothing, and looks about the same size but guess who is always stuck at the bottom of the teeter-toter. lol. I am a firm believer in "heavy bones" :)

Forget those ideal weight charts. They don't take into account any muscle weight at all! Does The Rock, or Arnold Schwartzenegger look fat and over weight to you? I guarantee if you took their ideal weight, compared to what they actually weigh, and they would be considered over weight.

Yes, some people can weigh a lot more than those
charts tell you. I have been an excercise techinician
and seen it over and over again.
For myself it never holds true to the charts. People
can never believe how much I weigh (I am also 5' 9").
It's been like that my whole life. The few times when
my weight was right in line with the charts, I got ranked
on for being skinny.
I always say listen to your body. How do you feel.
How do you like the way you look.
Be confident in yourself.
I don't look at the scale, I look in the mirror. I know
when I'm fit or when I'm not fit, the scale doesn't
need to tell me. ;-)
