a few days ago i went for a long early morning walk (6:20-7:00 am not early for some but i usually dont get up til about 9) and i did all my stretches and went around the neighborhood (1 1/3 miles) and my hips started hurting so bad, it wasnt a muscule ache, since i tend to be "self aware" and i know what they feel like, it felt alot like the bone anyway, i was wondering if any of you guys have had problems like this before. i would love to go to the doc but im afraid to since when it comes to my health i can do anything small, i dont get colds or flu i get broncitis and neamonia, i dont get small kidney stones i get the kind the insurance lady has to call 4 time to my doctor since the software she uses wont put the decimal in the right spot (it was almost the size of my fist formed in less than 9 months if you care) im hoping that it could just be arthritis so i need to compare before i go to the doc and pay $500 in exams to put me on pain killers i cant have, any help woould be great

My mother suffers from this, because she has one leg that is a hair shorter than the other, any type of walking for a long period of time bothers her. If you were to look at her, you wouldn't know that there is a like a teensy weensy difference.
You may want to see the doctor, simply because if your bones are hurting, it's no small matter, IMHO. Finding out if others have had it and then diagnosing yourself without actually being seen by a doctor is probably not the best rule of thumb, since everyone is different, and what one person is dealing with may not be the same thing that ails you.

I've been blessed with arthritis, and it usually comes on gradually, not all at once. Sometimes weird pains just come and go for no reason, so there's no reason to panic yet, but if it keeps up, I'd bite the bullet and go to the doctor asap. Could be almost anything. I know what you mean about never doing anything small when it comes to your health, as I tend to have the same experience, but ignoring a little problem until it becomes a big problem won't make it better. Or so my doctor assures me, and she has a really annoying habit of being right.

Ugh, kidney stones...I get those about every five - ten years, big ones also. they are not fun. I think it hurts more than labour! Hope your hip feels better soon. Ps: this may be an obvious question, but did you stretch first?

It could be your walking shoes. Some people wear them out rather quickly and the soles may be now uneven which makes your hips work in an uneven fashion.
