 question about caffeine

Do you think it would be safe for me to take some kind of a caffeine pill in the mornings? I drink all my water in the morning because if I drink any soda I end up not drinking the water that I need. Anyway I get really bad headaches from not drinking any soda in the morning and I was wondering if caffeine pills would help. Even if it is just one small one to hold of the headaches until I drink all my water.

I am not sure about the caffeine pill....but I used to drink alot of soda too. I just quite cold turkey & now only drink water & a small amount of OJ in the am. The first week I had bad headaches, but as my body got adjusted to my healthy eating\drinking lifestyle the headaches dissapeared...I feel so much better now! How long have you had the headaches? Do you also eat a breakfast in the morning, along w\ drinking your water? Just make sure you're eating enough, as I will also get a headache if I go too long w\out eating anything.

Good Luck!

whoa - i'm really confused by your post. do you want to take caffeine pills to replace the caffeine in the soda which you say that, without, you get headaches. How's that happening? Headaches: common problem - generally 99% dehydration and would usually be solved by drinking water (may take a little time to pass). Caffeine: a diuretic which will ultimately dehydrate you more, as will any soda or tea/coffee with caffeine in. Drink some water before you go to sleep, drink some when you get up and whenever you feel thirsty. Nothing wrong with diet soda, only I am confused as to how the soda (or lack thereof), caffeine pills and the headaches are all linked. Cheers, alex

If you feel you need the caffine you could try and energy drink. Walmart carries Results for Women, with 0 calories, 0 carbs and 0 sugar. It has the about as much caffine as a cup of coffee, but lots of B vitamins and calcium. When I stocked up the other day the price had gone from 1.78 each to 1.28 each. It seems a little pricy, but maybe worth a try. I usually have one on the way to work or one in the afternoon. I also drink coffee and will get a headache on the weekends late in the after noon if I don't have any. I've always assumed it was due to the lack of caffine in the morning.

http://www.headachepainfree.com/caffeine_withdrawal_headaches.htm

I went through serious caffeine withdrawal when I quite cold turkey. I had severe headaches for about 10 days, but now it feels great to have it over. I can actually enjoy a diet pepsi each day now without any problems. I would suggest though that you wean it off slowly, it might decrease your changes of the sever headaches! Good luck to you :)

p.s. 99% of headaches are not caused by dehydration, As a frequent migraine sufferer I've done lots of research on this. Headaches are generally caused by the way blood flows to your brain and the diliation of your blood vessels. Caffeine is a drug that constricts your blood vessels so that when you give it up, the blood vessels dilate increasing the blood flow of blood to your brain and causing the headaches! It's the same reason many pregnant ladies experience headaches at certain times during their gestation, the increased amount of blood flow.

You said that this Results for Women is at Walmart. I was just wondering if there are different flavors or just one product? I'm asking because I am a coffee junkie. I have a cup of coffee with the no fat creamer but it still has 44 calories & is all carbs almost everyday.

I can't say I have ever had a headache if I don't drink coffee, but maybe I've just never made the connection. Please let me know about the product, I would be very interested in the "flavor", if you think about the price that's cheaper than a coffee from a Starbucks! Thanks in advance!

The Results for Women Energy drink only comes in Rassberry Fiz. I like it alot and have at least one a day. I also love coffee and think they will come in handy here in Texas when it's 110 degrees outside and something hot just doesn't sound good. You can also buy them online at www.bodyforlife.com at the bottome there is a link for the Results for Women. I also use there weight management shakes that are only 100 calories. WalMart's prices are cheaper than online. Good luck, I hope you like them.

Do you want to get off Caffeine all together or just stop drinkin soda? If you are trying to get off caffeine do it slowly. If you like Green Tea, I would suggest to ween yourself off the soda by drinking a small cup of green tea. It has some caffiene but it also has great advantages too. Also-this is a big one-double your intake of Vit.C and take a nician pill.
I just recently went off coffee and my naturopath told me to do the above things for about 2 weeks. Now I can have herbal tea or nothing but water in the AM and I feel great.
Headaches are common from caffiene intake. take it easy.
