I am extremely active and the calorie calculator says that to maintain my weight I can eat around 2800 calories a day. If this is true then how come I have gained back some of my weight even though I don't eat even 2000 a day? I eat more between 1200 to 1500 calories a day. Does anyone know why this is happening? ~Alex~

Because your so active that your not consuming enough calories and your body has gone into starvation mode no doubt. You need to eat adequate calories or your body hangs onto fat instead of burning it.

Melanie posted some Basal Metabolism Rate figures recently. They were calculations to figure out how many calories you should consume, I believe. Try looking back at those. I am kind of envious of all you people who are so self-controlled that you are in "starvation mode". But I hope you shake things up very soon and start to lose weight (if you need to).
