Well....depends on your definition of low-carb. I'm lower carb than I used to be (about 50-55% of my diet), but depend on fruits, whole grains, and even vegetables for the carbs. But definitely not Atkins.

I did Atkins on and off for three years. It worked really well for weight loss. My husband is a diabetic so it was good for his maintenence. At the end of that time I begain breaking bones 7 in less then 2 years. I was diagnosed with osteoperosis. High protean is one of the calcium leaching no-nos. Obviousely it didn't cause my osteoperosis but because I was already loosing bone density it speeded things up. Besides being unhealthy in other ways if you have a genetic predisposition for osteoperosis it can cause some real problems.
