Hi John,

The only way to lose fat on your stomach is by losing weight in general.

You cannot target particular body areas for fat loss. Every person's body has its own distribution of fat, and you cannot tell your body where to lose its fat.

Unfortunately, those places where you gain fat first are the ones where you lose it last. In your case, the excess fat goes in your belly.

When you lose weight in general, eventually the pudge will go away.

Weight loss always comes down to total calories - if you take in less calories then you burn, you will lose weight.

There are no shortcuts, quick fixes or "magic pills". Weight loss is a lifelong commitment. You have to change your entire lifestyle to incorporate healthy eating and increased activity.

I have written my book Practical Weight Loss after I lost 23 lbs and got down to my ideal weight. It tells you everything you need to know to succeed in losing weight.

I stand behind my product 100%, and offer a money-back guarantee. If you follow the suggestions in my book, I'm confident you'll lose weight.

Are you within normal weight now? If you're not, Melanie's advice on overall fat loss should help. If you are within normal limits and still have the pudge (like me), Pilates/traditional crunch exercises might help to a certain degree. However, I guess some degree of it will always be there - loose skin that just would not bounce back - as a permanent testament to excess weight once gained. Some opt for a tummy tuck surgery when all else fails - I'm not quite into that.
