hey gals! I tend to look rather stocky, too. I have invested in a book by the New York Ballet Company. They have some really neat stretches (very difficult, but very fun), and a whole bunch of exercises to lengthen and trim you. I have seen a difference just in the way I feel and my husband has notices a difference, too! Email me if you want the name of the book!

Rissy,
My advice to you (I have a 12 yr. old daughter) is to find a sport that you like and play!
My daughter plays AYSO soccer (you don't even have to be good to play), and that keeps her very fit. She doesn't even realize she's doing something for her health!
Doing something that's fun keeps you motivated and it's a great habit to get into. I hate that I didn't do it when I was younger!
:)
Also, when your body gets used to having your period, you will start slimming down naturally. Don't worry.
Marye
