Hey m2s46....
Don't stress out over half a pound. Body weight fluctuates for many reasons and it could very well be that the 1/2 pound gain you see right now is water retention. Its honestly nothing to worry about, do NOT let it discourage you. I gained 2 pounds one week, but the next week I had lost it, plus another pound.
As long as you're being honest about your food intake and you know you haven't cheated, then really just don't worry about it!!!

I always weigh myself in the morning before eating or drinking very much. I hydrate myself very well before bed (yes I have to get up in the middle of the night). I get a very stable weigh-in that way, and I can even see loss from day to day. My biggest weigh-in problem is my clothing. My weight jumped up once in the past 2 months - when I changed from shorts to jeans. I also know the boots I wear are an extra 3lbs!! I think you'd be surprised at how what you wear can effect your weight. Of course if you have a trust worthy scale in the privacy of your own home this doesn't have to be a problem.

M2....
You need to relax....1/2 pound is nothing to stress out over.
It could be the water, it could be you are building muscle, it could be a whole host of things. Regardless, you need to learn to accept these "blips" along the way--it is going to happen and you are going to have to learn to deal with it with a cool head and a strong heart.
Don't turn this into an "excuse" to fall off the wagon--use it as an opportunity to strengthen your resolve.

Nothing you do in one day is going to screw everything up forever. I think I've read that here before :). Just keep an eye on that 1/2 pound, if it stays for a week or two, you are either eating too much or not moving enough.
