Hi guys!!!! Need your info on pedometers. I know basically what they do (measure steps taken in a period of time) but.........I don't know:
Where can I buy one?
How much do they cost?
If I buy one, I know seeing the digital readout of my activity level would be a plus, but, I wonder if I take 10,000 steps already (stay at home mom of two kids) and wondering if that 10,000 step program will really help me??
How does it measure the steps, say if you go jogging?
Any other pro's and cons would be greatly appreciated!!!!!1
Thanks Again :)
Love,
Julie

My first pedometer was only around $15, but it only measured distance and not steps. I think I only paid around $20 or $25 for my next one and it measures distance, number of steps/per minute, number of total steps, calories burned, and it has a timer so I know how long I have walked. I don't wear it all day long only because I forget. I wear it when I walk and I love it. You follow the directions it comes with and it explains how it logs walking vs running. I just don't remember cuz I'm not a runner. I got my pedometer at a sporting goods store. Good Luck!!

Mine was a christmas present from my husband, but I think it only cost around $30.00. Once I figured out how to program it I loved it. I don't wear mine everyday either but I wear it when I walk outside or take a hike throught the woods. It is pretty accurate and I don't have any complaints about it. Mine measures steps, distance, and calories burned.

They have 32 at Dicks:

I think someone mentioned Wal-Mart has them for around $20 too. I did a search on their site and only came up with a watch that measures distance for $138. The one I have clips to your belt (not sure how the rist ones work). Hope this helps.

Mine came from a local sporting goods store and I clip it to the top of my jeans.

Mine was only $14 at K-mart....it has been heaven! I wear it all the time and has been keeping me active. I walk and try to do more then 12, 500 somtimes I am almost at 17, 000. I love having it and so far has lost 2 pounds the first week of having it. (*Note: I use to lose only 1 pound a week but now I am praying that having the Pedometer I can lose 2 pounds a week). I too am a stay at home mom with 5 kids so doing the Pedometer is helping me alot. But then I also do my 4 miles work out. I also read that if you walk 8,000-10,000 a day promotes weight loss. I went to www.about.com and found alot of information about Pedometer. Hope you will like having it too. Take care.

What's the name of the manufacturer? I want to get one too, but I want a reliable one. I'd really appreciate the name.
Thanks.
