otta...i seem to remember you posting about how you lost weight, and you were saying that you stuck to a 1200 cal limit a day. can i ask, did you eat many carbohydrates on your diet? cause i've read that it's better to only eat two pieces of bread a day maximum, and stuff like that. but i tend to eat at least three, and i also eat small amounts of pasta and potatoes...is this ok? i've always thought that you can eat pretty much anything you want as long you stick to your calorie limit - is this true? obviously the healthier the better, but...

Munch, you said ...... "I've always thought that you can eat pretty much anything you want as long you stick to your calorie limit - is this true? obviously the healthier the better"
Yes, that's true. I've actually stuck to my 1200 including two donuts. Not good :)
My problem with bread is that I don't want one slice, I want six! I like food. Big food. Lots of food. So, no I didn't eat much bread. I carefully measured brown rice, whole wheat or brown rice pasta, that go lean cereal, oatmeal .... (1/2 cup of any of those) or rye crisps or a small tortilla ...
But I was heavily into volume, so that given the choice, I'd pick a huge amount of vegetables over anything.
Do you use fitday.com? What are your percentages? Protein, carbs and fats?
Would you email me about another little matter please?

:-o what little matter? i know it might sound weird, but i don't really like to give out my email addy...no offense meant, it's just i've had trouble with it in the past! could you tell me what it is on here?
about the carbs thing, i tend to eat a fair amount of them...i don't use fitday but i'd say i eat about 50% carbs, 30% protein and 20% veggies...hmmm...
i sometimes stick to my 1200 a day with much of it being taken up by bad foods too, like brownies or whatever, although i'm getting better at eating healthier! just had an apple for a snack ;)

It doesn't sound weird at all. It actually sounds very wise. Actually my email link doesn't work anyway. In about five minutes, I'm going to erase this gone again
I don't see much wrong with that break down of your intake. After all, a calorie is a calorie is a calorie. But if you find it hard to stick to, you may want to tweak the percentages a bit. Maybe plunk some numbers into fitday just to see how close your guesstimate is. Carbs make me want more carbs.
An apple is a wonderful choice for a snack. What you said before about the healthier the better is certainly true. Munch, you really do know what you're doing, you do. Knowing is much of the battle, implementing is the rest. You'll be just fine.
