Well one of my favorite especially during these cold winter months....
When the cravings hit after dinner and it`s your t.v. time or relax time...Fill the bathtub, grab a good book and enjoy! by the time you get out of the bath, the cravings are usually gone(cravings are suppose to last 20 minutes so if you can get your mind otherwise occupied...)

My tip is about exercise.
When your exercise time comes, even if you think you don't intend doing it, get into your exercise gear anyway. (It's kind of like rattling the leash for the dog.) Then just tell yourself that you will "just do 5 minutes" and set a timer. Chances are, once you start, you will finish and feel good about it. If you don't finish, well, there's always tomorrow (when you knock the timer up to 6 minutes).
I exercise first thing in the morning and I made a vow that I would NEVER leave the bedroom in the morning without my exercise gear on. Then I sit down and talk myself into getting my exercise done (some days are easier than others depending on what the exercise du jour is).
I NEVER leave the bedroom with my robe and fuzzy slippers and head for the coffee pot, plop down on the couch, and flip on the news anymore. That was a habit of the "fat me" lifestyle I trashed 8 months ago.

I love Fabulous@50's tip. I think she once called it "dressing for success." It is my very favorite tip.
I guess if I had to pick a second, it's Ken's "it's not what you eat 10% of the time that makes you fat, It's what you eat 90% of the time." So when you blow it, forgive yourself and get back on track ASAP.

What a great idea-I'm going to try that! That is my problem-Just starting. Once I actually get going, I like it, but it is the initiative that I am lacking.
Thanks

1. Food journaling...writing down what you eat and the calories it contains, everyday except your free day.
I seem to only lose weight when I do this. Even if someone only does it for a week or so, it will help the learn portion control.
2. Plan ahead...grocery shop on a full stomach and shop with your week's plan either written down or in your mind.
3. If you work outside the home, pack your lunch and snacks and always keep a nutrition bar or shake handy.
