I think I've had some success recently getting on top of some health issues and I'm ready to dive in. I went to fitday.com and started a file on ME! I figured I can keep my calories to 1358 and get all of the nutrients I'm going to need. I wish I could go lower, but I'll just need to get into a really active lifestyle again. I'm back, folks and ready to blast this problem out of the water! If any of you have any suggestions concerning carb/protein ratios etc. please share. I'm all ears...er...rather all eyes. :):)

I don't know about carb/protein ratios specifically, (other than reading where protein should basically be 10 to 20% and carbs 40 to 80% - and I think 20 - 30% fat), but I do know that weight loss is a simple matter of taking in less calories than you burn in a day, of course the calories you do eat need to supply the minimum required daily nutritients, some of which will be protein, carbs, and some fat, yes, we do need a little fat, but with today's processed foods it is hard not to reach the miminum in that area, but do try to avoid trans-fat completely.
I use Smart-Beat spread instead of margarine, it is trans-fat free and only 10 calories a tbsp, and the Smart-Beat cheese slices are also trans-fat free and just 25 calories a slice.
I also buy Oscar-Mayer Fat-Free Bologna - only 20 calories a slice !

I picked up some "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" Fat-Free spread. It's also trans-fat free and is 5 Calories a TBSp.
