During my daily email conversations with Tara (lady in Orlando), seems she is really wanting to do the bypass surgery. I don't think she is that overweight personally. I told her my story and that I don't think she should do it. I said she could do it with patience, dedication and the usual things I say to those on the board. But she has two friends who had it and she says 'they look great'.
I don't want to push her hard against it. I really hope a doctor advises her against it. I told her I'd stay by her whatever her choice though..
but still..I wish she would see that the surgery is suppose to be for emergency situations.

For women, weight IS an emergency situation there Ken ;)
Some people want results like yesterday and arent determined enough/have the patience to do it...surgery is the sad alternative

Did she do any reasearch on it? Although she has two friends that look great, other people have friends that have unfortunately passed away due to the surgury. Maybe if she reads about them it will help her think more deeply about it? I know it seems a harsh way to look at it but she has to know that it doesn't work for everyone and there could be some serious consequences. Maybe some bofore and afters from here will help? I know that whenever I feel I can't do it I look at Doug, Spud and Gary's pictures and they really help.
I hope it works out whatever she decides.
