Ok. I'm going to go get ready to go to my older sister's birthday party. She turns 27 today. Mom is serving lasagna and I'mtaking a salad and some Italian bread. Dessert is going to be a lemon tea cake. Good grief. Wish me luck. Stare me down so I don't eat too much. arg. (she would have to serve lasagna, wouldn't she?)

My mother in law does that too, she makes baked ziti all the time and knows I don't eat it. But of course being the baked ziti head that I am I wind up eating a little bit. My secret is to have a very light lunch and tiny to no snacks before hand. This way I know I still have a lot of calories to eat at dinner.
I'm not gonna stare you down silly, i'm gonna borrow Kens 2x4 and hold it over your hands for when you reach for the lasagna =)

....maybe could could mostly fill up on the salad (with fat-free dressing)
and then just have a small piece of italian bread with a little lasanga sauce spread on it for flavor :-)

Eat slowly! Savor it, try to make your smaller portion last as long as everyone elses at the table, that way you won't draw attention to the fact that you're not eating as much as they are. This means they are less likely to try to get you to eat more, and you won't be staring at an empty plate for half the meal. I find this really works well for me.
