 numbers...

Ok, so the kids have fried my brain....what are the numbers at the bottom of some of your messages? I get the first number, your start weight. What are the other numbers? How often do you weigh yourself? Just curious. Again, sorry about the lame question-I really am intelligent.( at least according to my 5 year old)

No question is a lame question! By the way, what are you wearing now?

Just kidding! The numbers are starting weight, current weight, and goal weight.

I weigh myself every day, but only once weekly counts officially, the same day every week, I also use the same scale, wear the same clothes (nothing), put my scale on the same lucky tile, and eat exactly the same thing before I weigh weekly. If you think I'm compulsive you should hear what other people do when weighing. Let's start that one again!

I intend to live forever.....So far so good!

272/ /188 1.5 lbs. this week. I dare not say till the cast comes off

I weigh myself first thing in the morning before dressing or eating - and then again at night just so I can see a 2 pound drop the next morning when I get on the scales.(Just water weight) - not really any real weight loss. This happens every night but hey, I need all and any motivation I can get.

Thursdays I put the weight on my chart - how much I have lost that week. Think about keeping some kind of chart of your progress.

I usually get on the scales two or three times and decide that the scales must be broken and I need new ones because surely I must have lost weight, right? But, to my dismay, the next time I'm at the doctors office I will check my weight against their scales and find out my scales are true. Darn!!

Thanks alot, and I am wearing a comfy white tee, and elastic pants-yuck-they keep falling down when I bend down to pick up my kids, scaring them immensely. They keep asking me why my pants are falling down. I think their little cracks showing are so sweet. Don't they feel the same about me?
Thanks for the number explanation. I thought that was it, but wasn't sure. You guys weigh yourselves alot. I don't know if I can do it that often, because I am afraid I will get frustrated and give up.
BTW-was the above information too much? LOL

I have to fess up....:( was really addicted to weighing myself for a very long time...:( , I`ve improved and it no longer controls my life...(O.k. Ok. most of the time)...
Now is the time to take measurements....Write them somewhere and in a month `s time compare...I wouldn`t do it more often then every month cause you do have to give your body a chance to change....G

I weight myself once a week (Friday). Just like Eric, same time, same tile and I get on once, check the number, get on a second time to confirm the number--if it is the same I quit, it is different, I get on a 3rd time for the "official" weight.

Once I get to my "maintenance" weight (which is 150), I will probably weigh in twice a week to make sure I'm staying the course.

Yea, don't forget to comb your hair, and remove those heavy contacts, and brush the heavy scum off your teeth before you dare step on the scale. Dusting the scale before one weighs can also reduce the reading a few microns. If you weigh after a shower you can subtract the weight of a whole layer of skin! And please, don't forget to spit out that gum before getting on the scale....I have heard that it can add nearly a whole pound.

Good idea-I thought about once a week was good, and I have a really cheap scale, so I am going to save up to buy a more accurate one. Maybe it will read less than what I think-(wishful thinking). -S
