i used to be very active, after i graduated from high school thing slowed down and i gained a lot of weight over the summer and i have been trying to get the weight off for some time now. but nothing is working. im 18 i am 5'6" and weight 160.... i goal wieght is 130... i exercise 5-6 days a week i either run or swim for atleast 40 mins. im away at college so i dont have much for a food choice... please help!!!

look up ast-ss.com .....they will describe some techniques like HIIT(high intensity interval training) and weight training tools to get ya in shape...knowledge is the key...i bet in that 40 minutes you dont go to your limits..you sit in your comfy zone some what..try 15 mins in the morning of FULL ON high intenisty cardio, and 15 minutes in the evening...you burn less calories in the exercise period HOWEVER you burn more calories throughout the rest of the day due to a huge rise in your metabolism...this is what short but fierce training will do..quick and hard will spike your metabolism off the charts and you will lose more fat throught the day/week/month than sitting on a stationary bike cycling comfortably somehwat for 40 mins..look at the site they explain it there...yes they sell products too, but alot of their research is legitamate, and they dont push their products in their articles and scientific studies...they have helped alot of people, including me and i havent bought one thing from them..its rare to find professional scientific help from exercise physiologists and sports science personal who arent pushing their products in your face..this is one of the few sites who are still informative..even their research methods (im a uni student so i know this stuff like you do im sure!!) are right on the money and arent in-housing product testing..take a look , you might something helpful in their articles
