 no appetite

Has anyone ever had a problem with lack of appetite? I train with weights and do cardio, but I hardly ever get hungry. I know I should eat several times a day. I am a stay at home mom and sometimes forget to eat until 2 or 3 in the afternoon, even later sometimes. Most Thermos reduce appetite and do nothing for me....any suggestions?

yep...make yourself eat lol...u really do need to eat otherwise u could be destroying your efforts without realising it, especially if you can wait till mid afternoon to put something in your mouth...this really wont help your weight loss goals.

Well I have a question then. I thought the less calories you eat, the better, so how does that destroy the efforts? I'm new to dieting and stuff so I would really like to know because sometimes I have no appetite too like on really hot days or something. So it's better to eat a little bit than not to eat at all? I don't understand this concept and why it is bad not to eat if you don't want to. Thanks for any info.

well theres a difference between a slight calorie deficit (eating a few calories less per day than what your body requires to maintain its current weight, thereby drawing energy from fat hence losing weight) and eating next to nothing...u have to find a balance...find out how many cals u need per day to maintain your current weight and then subtract 500 a day...i wouldnt EVER go under 1200 cals per day by the way...you need to eat frequently, or graze every 2-3hours to keep your metabolism ticking over...if u have one or two big meals per day u may still lose weight but it will be an unhealthy way and alot slower

I only have this problem when forced to endure the stressful WAITING period to find about about a job, like right now. This time it is worse as I have a second job offer waiting for me to hear about the first job (the first job is better). The first is supposed to be letting me know 'any day now' and the second needs to know my decision by the time their project starts (which is also 'any day now').

Needless, the anticipatoin about *finally* being able to start working again (I've been stuck at home looking for work since we moved here 3 months ago) coupled with the worry that I may not get the first job and then miss out on the second job has my appetite lacking.

I guess this is temporarily making up for those donuts the other day, though but I really hate the waiting. :-(

(had to vent)
