 fat, carbohydrates, protein..
Author: joan

I was wondering if anyone that keeps tract of their fat, carbs and protein knows what percentage they should be. I searched the web and came up with:

30% fat
10% protein
60% carbs.

I downloaded the home version of Fitday and I like the features it has. Just wondering what the above numbers should be.

Thanks
Joan

Well, I think a lot of people create their own percentages based on what they know their bodies can tolerate. Some people do well with most of their calories coming from carbs and some people can't eat that many. As far as protein, I think 10% is a little low, but that's just my opinion.

However, it's usually always recommended to get 30% or less of your calories from fat and only 10% of that saturated. I personally stick with about 20-25% total fat calories and ALWAYS stay below 10% saturated.
