Annie,

First thing you need to do is stop beating yourself up ("I AM SO HORRIBLE"). All your "inner fat person" is trying to do is give you an excuse to comfort yourself with fattening foods and taking it easy to get out of exercising! What a bunch of crap!!

If you don't tell your "inner fat person" that you are loveable and worthy--and not horrible--you will continue the vicious cycle of beating yourself up and comforting yourself with unhealthy food and relaxation.

It's not a diet Annie...it's an entire lifestyle change. First take some time to learn to love yourself unconditionally; then learn about proper eating and exercise; then DO IT (don't die-it); then, and only then, will the weight come off and STAY OFF!

I try to eat around 1300-1400 calories a day. I eat 3 meals a days with 2 or 3 snacks in between. My meals consist of about 45% carbs, 25% protein, and 30% fat. These percentages are what help me get and stay full. A sample day for me looks like...

Breakfast: 1 piece of toast (wheat bread) with 3 tsps. peanut butter
yoplait yogurt
Lunch: Subway 6 inch roasted chicken breast sandwich on wheat bread
Snack: zone bar
Dinner: 3 oz. grilled chicken breast
1 cup wild rice
1 cup broccoli w/ "I can't believe its not butter!" spray
1.5 cups iceberg lettuce w/ 2 tablespoons low fat dressing
1 tablespoon parmesean cheese
Snack: string cheese and an apple

That comes out to about 1350 calories. Don't give up! u can do it!

Hey Annie ! I agree with Fab@50 ,but also will add,eat more fruits and veggies. Not only are they good for you, most are pretty lo cal and almost all are fat free(with some exceptions.) You can eat alot more of them than anything else for little calories.Just for instance 1 cup of steamed chopped broccoli has only 30 calories, add a slice of fat free American cheese for 30 calories and you've got a good bit of food for just 60 calories and trace fat.And fruit also is great, just don't drown in sugar.I hope it helps and you find something that works. LOL :-)

Annie,
You mentioned that you always want to snack at night. Last year when I first started this journey that was a HUGE problem for me. So I set a cutoff time for all eating. I don't allow myself to eat anything after 7:30pm, 6 to 7 nights a week. I allow one night for special occasions that arrise. I'll admit, when I first started this was really hard, but after a year it's practically second nature and has really helped keep the calories under control.
The other thing I do to help combat this is to go to the gym at night, or anywhere, for that matter, where food is not easily accessable.
