Hi,
I really need to lose about 30+ or more pounds. I just got a membership for my local gym and have concluded that to lose weight I need to do some type of cardio exercise four to five times a week. My question is, what is the best cardio machine in the gym that will get you losing weight and looking thinner? Is it the treadimill, or the elliptical or the bike, or what??
thank you so much....

My advice is that you try them all and see which one you truly enjoy because the one that you use is the one that will help....
If you get on any one and don`t like it and don`t stay on it too much because you don`t feel motivated it will discourage you...You can use one more frequently and then for a change do the others....A lot of people feel that you get more for your efforts with the elliptical...Again it is a matter of preferance...I could never get used to it myself. The one machine in the gym that I don`t know the name of was a combination stair climber, elliptical but the arms didn`t move...I use to love that machine....Now I do my work outs at home and use my treadmill most of the time and some videos...I also do 3-4 karate classes /week

I use several different ones in one session...rowing machine for 15 minutes, then cycle for 10 minutes and then back to rowing machine for 5 minutes or on the stepper. There is no way I could sit on the same spot for 30 minutes...I would be too bored.

Thank you! I tried the Elliptical machine the day before I posted my message. It really made my workouts more fun and easier for me to withstand a long amount of time on one machine. I also tried the treadmill and thought it was fun, but I didn't think I would be able to stay on it for more than 15 minutes. The bike was okay. I really had to work at it and after 5 minutes, I was exhausted. The stairclimber is pretty fun, but for me that is also a difficult goal to accomplish.
I also do situps and very few weight training sessions. I really need to do cardio to LOSE weight.
thanks for your help +time.

I agree with the rowing. But start on the setting with the least resistence.Sierra wrote:
