- GymMachine,,,help me out....

....Hey there. About 2 weeks ago, i joined 24 hour fitness..( Aren't you proud of me ? )..and, as the resident expert on weight lifting, i was wondering if you could either answer, or tell me how i'm doing on my routine. Now GM, as i told you all about 2 months ago, i started to eat a lot better than i had before, and that, i was starting to walk about 2 miles everyday. And then after a while, i started to run/walk hard. Now, as of about two weeks ago, i joined the Gym. Now GM, i only go on Mon- Wed - fri. Now, i do want to lose weight, and i am doing some Bike-riding, and that epliptical machine..( Spelling )...but GM, i know you said, and i know this too, that weight-traing is important as well. Now, since i'm going for overall toneness, and not size. And since i know you have to target AT LEAST the major Muscle ares..( Chest,,Back,,Shoulders, Legs, Arms & Tri's as well as some Ab work ),,but GymMachine, exactkly HOW many sets do i perform for each Muscle group ?
I know the Legs,,Chest & Back are larger groups that the Arms/Tri's and Shoulders, but still, how many overall sets per Muscle group, and how many Reps should i perform. I find it hard to hit EVERY single group of Muscles on every visit, but, if i break it down to say,,Chest - Back and Biceps, on Monday..( Along with some Bike riding and some Ab work )..and then hit Legs and Shoulders and Triceps on Wed, i won't hit the Chest,,Back, ect, until Friday..( Which would be 4 days off those Mucle groups since the Monday workout )..and i'm uncertain if that's too long of a rest. Or, since i'm primarily just lifting to keep my Motabolism up, and get some basic toning, is that a good routine ?, and, if you think it's okay to break up my routine in alternate days like that, what still should be my toal sets per body parts that i listed, as well as the reps per set.

damn that was a long response with millions of typos...sorry bout that

I forgot to mention muscle is your metabolism....so even if u add 1/4 of an inch to your arms for example, you can have your cake and eat it too...to an extent ;)....anyway i know you dont want size..and training heavy will give you definition AND size...so perhaps training around 8 reps might be better if you dont want hardly any size at all...like i said, you could incorperate both or whichever..endless possibilities..i have MSN IM i forgot to mention to..anyway email or respond here and we will work something out if you like...that will be $50 ron...ha!..just kiddin :)
