GM, just curious on your take on the Body for Life. I can't help but tell people about it. It makes so much sense and is so easy. I know that Bill pushes the EAS supplements a little and he used to own the company, but the program works and is based what I believe to be the basics of good nutrition and excercise. If you work out according to the BFL program, you body is going to NEED a supplement. If you read some of the sucess stories, most of the people didn't use a large amount of the supplements anyway.

Thoughts?

Hello,

Don't want to intrude on your post to GM, but I too have done the BFL and yes it does work wonders. I lost 42 lbs in 6 months on it. I have to get back to doing it though.... I can't deny I've been more than slack about my exercise lately. I would recommend this plan to anyone who is serious about losing weight. One drawback for me was having to write everything down.... I found that to be a bit of a pain, but well worth it in the long run. I didn't use any supplements -- only nutribars when I had a chocolate craving (they're like a protein bar). I have another 40 lbs to go to be where I want and I plan to start back on Monday with the BFL or some similar variation. The other problem I had with BFL was how limiting the food was....after eating the same ol' thing for 6 months I was ready for change. I'll need to address this if I'm going to be successful.

Cheers,

Luna

Good job! Wow. Yes, get back on it! I don't like using the forms from the book either so I keep a food journal in a calendar that I carry with me and as far as the work out form, I did it a few times until I could remember what I was supposed to do without it. I don't find the foods limiting and since all those receipes are posted on the web site you can do alot. I did BFL 2 year ago with awesome results. Hopefully this time I stay with it. If you haven't visited the web site lately, check it out. There's lots of new stuff from when I was doing the program before. Good luck!!!!!

Really? Wow.... yeah, I"ll have to check out the site; I haven't visited it in a while. I have to admit, I know that there are lots of different ways to prepare the food, and the only reason it was limiting was because I wasn't being creative about it. I've since read a lot of muscle magazines and bodybuilding info on various recipes that will fit into the BFL. I just have to break down and do it. I too stopped using the workout sheets once I got down what I was doing -- no point it's just the same stuff with more weight is all. The food journal thing is what got me, but I like your idea about the calender -- I might try that. I need to do something before I balloon back up, you know? I've been so discouraged lately... lots of stress (not the least of which is a pending divorce). I'll let you know how it goes. Glad to meet another BLFer :))

I tried the BFL program, with motivation from my boss and colleague who both tried it very successfully (My boss was a cynical older rugby-player type who thought weigth loss programs were a waste of money. He tried the BFL progam and lost 30 lbs in the first 12 weeks). I had a really hard time fitting the 6 meals a day in and in the amounts it asked for. I found I was buying almost twice as much groceries (my hubby wasn't feeling up to doing it with me so he ate our regular fare)... it was just too much, though I still kept on with teh work out methods.

he has had much success and is one hell of a marketer for it...i dont know how he suggests the weight training part though but 95% of the rest like cardio and diet i agree with his veiws...i think he doesnt believe in eating before a workout (not sure on that one) and not eating after cardio...i disagree with this part but the rest is cool to me...yeah he does push the EAS angle but thats inevitable these days, everyone has ties with some company, as long as the advice is sound inbetween.

Thanks GM. For some reason that makes me feel better. His weight training is basically what most other people suggest, 3 times a week for 45 minutes alternating with cardio, upper and lower. He says alot of the same stuff you say.

Thanks again!
