Gym Machine May I ask you a ?

Well everybody else asks you questions so I was wondering if you think petting on the first date is appropriate? Not too heavy, mind you.

Seriously, I'm just begginning to lift weights...any good sites I should visit or any advice off hand?

Thanks,

Eric

lol..nuttin wrong with petting.

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/satter.htm

has alot of good articles but im not sure about weight training itself...otherwise if your starting out you need to build a bit of a foundation..nothing too heavy to start of with, just get the body to adapt and get some nuromuscular adaptations happenin...the only site i know of is Ast-ss.com ....sign up for the MAX-OT program...albeit they are heavy lifters, although you dont have to be as they describe a 12 week exercise program for you for free and even offer some diagrams i think, aswell as good explanations..they also take all the guess work out of it like reps and sets as well as what to do on what days...once your comfy with that you can always go onto heavier lifting (eg 4-6 rep failures) like they prescribe.....i used this program before and still use variations of it today, i highly reccomend it...other than that i dont know of any other sites coz i have never been to any others sorry!

When I started, I used the www.bodyforlife.com plan. It was a great start.

Nothing, unless you buy the book. I think it's around $18 at Wal-Mart and the proceeds are donated to charity. You can get what you need from the web site, www.bodyforlife.com. Or you can ask me anything you want.

The book is very motivational and I refer back to it often. I think it was a great start for me. I didn't know the first thing about working out, eating right or losing weight.

I'll agree with BFL Michelle. I thought the bfl book was a good start for me as well. the back of the book has a section for weight lifting. It has pictures and explains how to achieve proper form. It is a good bargain for the price.

take care,

-trowa
