I have just had a look at Bill Phillips site, and I am blown away by the remarkable difference in the people who have adopted this challenge. The only thing that bothers me, (and I may be being a mite critical), is that the end result shows some of the women looking too muscular and too thin.
I got the impression from looking at a few of the ladies, that their "half way" bodies were fine, whilst their end result looked like they were ready to compete in a body building competition!!
Now if that's what they hoped to achieve then great?
Personally, I don't want to end up that buffed or that thin.
I'd like to try the program, but I feel that if the end results are typical it's a bit of overkill on the ladies part.
Am I being too critical here?

Well, I did (and am) doing the BFL plan. I lost 42 lbs in 6 months (I've since gained 16 back because I was being slack) and I have another 40 lbs to go! It does definitely work! I'd recommend trying it. As for the body builder look.... well, if that's what you want, great, but if not, you stop where you are comfortable, you know? I don't mean stop the program, but once you are where you want to be, you can ease up a bit, and not go ultra low fat ALL the time, you know?
Hope that helps.
Luna

You can take it as far as you want to go. I agree some of the women went to far for me. I think her name is Pam, that lost 96 pounds is a body builder now. The www.bodyforlife.com website has other before and after pictures that are more what I would like to look like.
I'm doing the BFL program. I've done it before and I know it works. Hopefully this time I won't quite again. Good luck. Give it a try!

Those before/after pictures are riveting. I remember staring at those little pictures on the book cover for nearly 15 minutes when the book first came out. After reading the book, I was a little let down because the information had been well known in the bodybuilding community for a long time. Bill had found a way to successfully market it to the masses; the right product at the right time. That in no way takes away from the effectivness of the program. I literally have my own transformation going on right now. Not BFL per say, but the principles are all there. When I reach my goal I'll post my before/after photos as my triumph, and they'll be no less dramatic. The only thing people will be saying is "How could he let himself get that bad?" The answer is a long story, personal and boring.
By all means try it, and believe that you can attain no less results. Luna is right that you will be in control of your appearance. The ladies who look bulked are really just unusually lean, way less body fat than typical. They had to do some hard dieting to get that way. Some are competetors who have snuck in under the program. Those same ladies would look quite feminine with the same muscle and and more body fat. You will not get anything out of the program that you specifically did not try to acheive. Let us know if you decide to try.

I am mulling over whether to do it or not.
I am a little put off by the women, but I understand it is an extreme look. Definitely not for me that body builder look.
A couple of the ladies look fabulous, the others ..No, too muscly for me.
I saw a few books advertised, but I couldn't actually find the program on the site.
If the program is in book form I wonder if it is available O/S?

Yep. Your going to have to buy the book for the BFL program. If you look around in the bookstores It is now offered alot at reduced prices. As with anything worthwhile you will need to be comitted to making it happen. Don't worry about bulking, it just won't happen if you don't want it to. Sorry I don't know what you mean by O/S, if off the shelf, then yes you should be able to find it. Try Amazon.com Just dont pay full price for it, it can be had for less. Good luck. If you decide to do it, it could literally change your life. I am a huge proponent of resistance training though. It's been the one sure thing for me for a long time.

CJ,
I don't know where you are, but WalMart has the BFL book for about 17 and some change. Also check out the www.bodyforlife.com web site. It has lots of information that may help you without buying the book. Good luck.

O/S meant overseas. I'll try Amazon. I'm extremely impressed with the body changes too. I guess the diet is a low fat variant?
I had never heard of the program until now. We have nothing like this in Australia.

Once again thanks for your help!
I am Australian and I believe we don't have the program here yet.
